NAD+ Infusion Therapy

NAD Infusion Therapy

Is NAD+ the Key to Aging Well?

Dr. Kennea is thrilled to announce the launch of NAD+ infusion treatments at Whistler Medical Aesthetics.

NAD+ is causing quite a stir in Europe and the US for its extraordinary health benefits, including increased mental clarity, increased energy levels, reduced inflammation, and anti-aging.

It is attracting everyone from elite athletes and celebrities to busy business people and those just wanting to improve their overall health.

So what is NAD+?

Quite simply, NAD+ is a naturally occurring compound in our bodies that declines as we age.

So how important is NAD+ and why have I never heard of it before?

"NAD+ is the closest we’ve gotten to a fountain of youth. It’s one of the most important molecules for life to exist, and without it, you’re dead in 30 seconds." - David A. Sinclair, PhD

David Sinclair is the co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School. He’s a pretty smart guy.

Mr. Sinclair states in his research that NAD+ is a molecule found in all living cells and is critical for regulating cellular aging and maintaining the proper function of the whole body. Levels of NAD+ in people and animals diminish significantly over time.

You can read more about his work in a TIME magazine article here.

NAD+ is a naturally occurring compound in our bodies that determines how quickly our cells age. It is fundamental to the biological processes that make life possible.

Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD+) is a coenzyme that is present in every cell of your body. As we age, our NAD+ levels decline, and by our fifties, they have declined by more than 50 percent.

Clinical studies have found that supplementation (adding NAD+) can improve a wide variety of physiological changes, which include improving muscle function, enhanced athletic performance, increasing brain regeneration. Also interestingly it helps in restoring energy levels and boosting mood.

A comprehensive body of research indicates NAD+ has the unique ability to protect tissues, induce DNA repair, and increase health span and lifespan.

Medically, NAD+ is a natural and effective therapeutic intervention for people suffering from opioid addictions.

My own interest arose out of looking at Traumatic Brain Injuries, such as concussions, and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as potentially anxiety, depression, and neurodegenerative conditions.

Depending on how interested you are in reading the science, you will discover how incredibly complex the science behind recent advances in anti-aging medicine are.

NAD+ levels control the activity of DNA repair and the seven enzymes that guard against aging called “sirtuins.”

These proteins have been nicknamed “guardians of the genome” because they play a crucial role in maintaining cellular health, as well as helping to control inflammation, and switching off genes that are associated with aging. Yes, you read that correctly.

NAD+ IV infusions support short and long-term brain health. How? Well, by stimulating neuron and synapse development, and promoting neuroplasticity and neurogenesis, as well as reducing neuroinflammation.

NAD+ activates the production of dopamine, serotonin, and noradrenaline, improves neuro-chemical communication, mood, concentration, and memory.

NAD+ Infusion Therapy Strength

I told you it was complex!

NAD+ is available as an oral supplement, but to truly get a good supplement dosage, there is no substitute for an Intravenous infusion.

The NAD+ is then absorbed straight into your bloodstream, which will give you a faster, more effective outcome.

This high dose quickly optimizes your NAD levels, which revs up the engine in your cells (called the mitochondrion). Roughly translated, there is more energy for you.

It’s essential to work with a qualified doctor, as there are specific protocols. The infusion takes time, between 1 to 2 hours, or perhaps longer; depending on your tolerance. It is not unusual to experience temporary symptoms as your body absorbs new NAD+, so we like to monitor you closely and let the infusion go in slowly to get the very most from your treatment.
