Exosome Therapy
Exosomes are extracellular vesicles, microscopic packages released by cells that carry genetic instructions, growth factors, and proteins between tissues. When delivered via microneedling or injection, medical-grade exosome preparations initiate a regenerative cascade in the skin that is more potent and more specific than what PRP or conventional growth factor therapies achieve. At WMA, exosome therapy is used for skin rejuvenation, post-procedure recovery acceleration, and hair restoration.

How exosome therapy works
Every cell communicates through the vesicles it releases. Exosomes carry microRNA, messenger RNA, and proteins that instruct recipient cells to behave differently: to produce more collagen, to repair DNA damage, to reduce inflammation, to regenerate. The exosome preparations used in clinical aesthetics are derived from stem cells and standardized to contain defined concentrations of growth factors and signaling molecules.
Unlike PRP, which relies on your own platelet concentration, exosome therapy delivers a consistent, high-potency signal regardless of the patient's baseline biology. For patients whose own regenerative capacity has diminished with age (patients whose skin heals more slowly, who lose volume faster, who do not respond to topicals the way they once did), this matters.
Applied post-procedure, exosomes significantly amplify the outcome of microneedling and laser treatments by adding a biological recovery signal to the mechanical or thermal stimulus. The combination is additive in a way that simply using a standard serum post-treatment is not.

Ideal candidates
Exosome therapy appeals to patients who want clinically meaningful results through biological mechanisms. These are patients who are interested in how skin works, not just how it looks, and who want their treatment to address the underlying quality of the tissue rather than just the surface.
It is particularly compelling for patients in their 40s, 50s, and beyond who have noticed that their skin's capacity to recover and renew has slowed. It is also a strong recommendation for any patient undergoing ablative laser or microneedling. Applying exosomes immediately post-procedure consistently improves both the speed and quality of healing.
As a standalone treatment for patients who want skin quality improvement without any energy-based procedures, a series of two to three exosome sessions produces meaningful, gradual improvement that compounds over time.
Treatment delivery:
Exosomes are delivered following skin preparation: a cleanse and either microchannel creation via microneedling or direct injection, depending on the target area and depth required. The exosome preparation is applied during or after the channel creation step, when the pathways into the deeper dermis are most accessible.
Treatment time is 30 to 60 minutes depending on the application. Mild redness and sensitivity for 12 to 24 hours is typical. Sun protection and avoidance of active topicals for 48 hours post-treatment is recommended to allow the biological signal to work uninterrupted.

Cellular instruction, not surface correction
Exosome therapy works differently from every other injectable or topical. It delivers biological instructions to cells rather than adding volume, generating heat-induced repair, or providing temporary surface coverage. The result is a quieter, more fundamental shift in how the tissue performs over time.

What to expect
Results from exosome therapy are gradual and continue developing for four to eight weeks. Skin quality (luminosity, texture, firmness, and hydration) all improve progressively. Because the mechanism is biological rather than inflammatory, the improvement has a different character to laser or microneedling results alone. Patients often describe their skin as looking and feeling fundamentally healthier.
For hair restoration, the timeline is longer. Three to six months after completing a series is when density and shedding reduction become measurable. Exosome therapy for hair works best in early to moderate androgenic alopecia where follicular activity is still present.
Frequently Asked Questions

Neuromodulator treatments do not require recovery. Treatments are quick and you can return to all regular activities immediately.
Anti-Wrinkle Injection treatments are quick and relatively comfortable. At most, you may experience a small pinprick sensation.
Neuromodulator treatment results manifest over a period of 3-14 days and last an average of 3-6 months depending on the treated area and how quickly an individual’s body metabolizes the treatment.
