SkinTyte II

SkinTyte II uses Sciton's BroadBand Light platform to deliver infrared energy precisely into the deep dermis, heating collagen fibers and initiating the remodeling cascade from below, without any surface disruption. There is no ablation, no peeling, no recovery. The skin tightens from within, and the improvement builds progressively over the months following treatment.

SkinTyte II

Sub-surface skin tightening via BBL

SkinTyte II runs on the Sciton BBL platform, the same system used for Forever Young BBL, Forever Clear BBL, and ClearV at WMA. Where Forever Young BBL addresses pigment and vascular changes at the skin surface, SkinTyte II is configured to deliver infrared energy into the deep dermis.

This infrared energy is absorbed by water in the dermal tissue, creating controlled thermal stress at the collagen level, triggering both immediate fiber contraction and the longer-term remodeling process that generates new collagen over three to six months. A contact cooling system protects the epidermis throughout, making the treatment comfortable and safe for most skin types without any surface consequence.

The combination of SkinTyte II and Forever Young BBL in a single session is a very popular protocol at WMA, treating the full structural spectrum in one appointment: surface clarity and tone with the BBL component, and deep dermal tightening with the SkinTyte component.

Who benefits most

SkinTyte II suits patients who notice their skin has lost some firmness and want to address this without visible downtime. The ideal candidate has mild to moderate laxity; the earlier treatment begins, the more responsive the tissue. For patients with significant laxity, a surgical consultation is the appropriate starting point, with SkinTyte II potentially used as a maintenance tool after surgical correction.

It is particularly effective on the face and neck, where the BBL platform is most established. Patients post-facelift who want to sustain their surgical result non-invasively often incorporate SkinTyte II as an annual maintenance treatment. Studies suggest that consistent light-based therapy slows the rate of skin aging measurably.

Patients who are currently pregnant, have active skin conditions at the treatment site, or have a history of photosensitive conditions should discuss timing at consultation.

The treatment:

Eye protection is worn throughout the session. The BBL handpiece is pressed against the skin and pulsed in systematic passes, beginning at a moderate energy and increasing based on skin response and endpoint assessment. Most patients feel a warm snapping sensation with each pulse; the contact cooling makes this entirely manageable.

There is no peeling, no crusting, and no visible surface change after a SkinTyte II session. The skin may appear slightly flushed for an hour or two. Makeup can be applied immediately if desired. Sessions take 20 to 40 minutes depending on the area. A standard series is four sessions spaced three to four weeks apart.

Sciton's BBL system is WMA's most versatile light platform. SkinTyte II, Forever Young BBL, Forever Clear BBL, and ClearV all run on the same technology. Combination protocols are coordinated and efficient, and the depth of Sciton experience at WMA means consistent and accurate delivery across all applications.

Results and timeline

Immediate collagen contraction provides a subtle, visible lifting effect after even the first session. Progressive new collagen production continues for three to six months after the final treatment in a series. The full outcome is most accurately assessed at three months post-series.

Skin appears firmer, more defined, and improved in overall quality. The change reads as natural, a firmer version of the patient's own face, not a repositioned or volumized one. This is what makes consistent, long-term SkinTyte II so valued by patients who have been doing it for several years.
